GETTING AWAY WAS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE DONE!!

I don't know if we often realise it, but when something like this happens we tend to look out for everyone and forget ourselves. Even if you don't think you do. It's easier to focus on someone else than yourself, yet if you don't address what's happening to you, it's going to be an awful lot harder to carry on with it.

I realised that the best thing I could do was to take myself away and go and do something really fun in a different environment. For me it meant abroad where contact was more difficult and I could really escape and think. I went with a friend, and it's important that they know and are there to give you space to vent and talk it through. No point going and ignorning it!!

Also what made it great for me was doing something I really loved. Something I wasn't sure I'd still be able to do later with possible balance issues. Whilst being away, it also gave me a chance to show myself I was still me. Sometimes being a bit selfish and thinking about you is the only thing to do.
